Jesuit Provinces
Maryland Province of the Society of Jesus
The Maryland Province encompasses Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, southern New Jersey, North Carolina, Virginia, Washington, DC, and West Virginia. The province is home to more than 400 Jesuit priests, brothers, scholastics and myriad lay colleagues all working in a wide variety of ministries such as education, social justice issues, pastoral care and more, helping others to "find God in all things," a basic Jesuit philosophy.
New York Province of the Society of Jesus
The New York Province encompasses all of the state of New York and part of northern New Jersey and cares for the personal, formational, and spiritual needs of Jesuits and lay colleagues with an eye to ministering to the immigrants and the poor while evangelizing culture through learned ministry. In addition to local work, we work abroad helping the people of the Philippines, Micronesia, Nigeria-Ghana and the Caribbean.
New England Province of the Society of Jesus
The New England Province consists of the six New England States: Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut. We also sponsor Jesuit works in Amman, Jordan and Jamaica. Members of the Society of Jesus of New England serve in a wide variety of ministries, both religious and secular, at home and abroad, for the betterment of the human family and the creation of just social structures.
